Triple Dare Running Company

Josh Tomsheck

Originally an Illinois boy, I have dug my roots deep in the desert soil. Married to a native Vegas girl, we are the proud parents of the three most amazing kiddos in the entire world. My trail life has simple enough beginnings. A few years ago I found myself nearing 40 with the bad combination of poor health genetics, subpar conditioning and a handful of bad habits. After some well intentioned prompting by some dear friends, I found both peace and passion in the pursuit of Southern Nevada hills and trails. Since I’ve started trail running I have lost almost 30 pounds, but gained immeasurable wealth in friendships and experiences. Trail running is both the yin and the yang of my fitness life... it is at the same time solitude and camaraderie , struggle and ease, freedom and discipline. The best analogy I have for my feelings on the trail is the trail itself. The pain and ache of the climb only exists as a means to the joy and bliss of the descent on the other side. Every great thing I’ve ever experienced in this world has come on the other side of fear. For me, trail running is no different. When I’m not running I spend my time being the best father and husband I can be, working (or as I refer to it “fighting for justice”) as a board certified criminal trial attorney at my law firm Hofland & Tomsheck, spending as much time as possible with my wonderful friends, playing with our family puppy (Winston) and desert tortoise (Pistachio), coaching my sons baseball and basketball teams, seeing the world through he eyes of my two beautiful daughters, cheering on my beloved Chicago Cubs, finding serenity in my relationship with God, working out at my favorite gym (Real Results Fitness downtown), fiercely competing in Spartan and obstacle course races, pursuing my philosophies of “progress, not perfection” and “better every day” - - and never, EVER taking for granted all I have to be grateful for in this amazing world.
